Van Hollen: Netanyahu Sabotaging Iran Deal To Dodge Ouster
Senator Chris Van Hollen accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Senator Lindsey Graham of sabotaging Iran diplomacy in favor of regime change during a Wednesday MSNBC appearance.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “All In” program Wednesday evening, Van Hollen launched sharp criticism at what he described as coordinated efforts to undermine any potential deal with Tehran, according to Breitbart News.
The Maryland Democrat characterized American policy toward Iran as flawed from its inception, urging an immediate reversal of course. He grouped Graham together with former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Netanyahu, asserting they share a common agenda distinct from what he believes should be presidential objectives.
Van Hollen stated that Netanyahu, Graham, and their allies aim for complete destabilization within Iran, with regime change as their ultimate goal from the outset. He suggested uncertainty exists regarding the current administration’s actual objectives in the region.
The senator went further to allege that both the Israeli Prime Minister and the South Carolina Republican are actively working to prevent any form of agreement with Iran, especially if it’s a face-saving agreement to just get out of there, which Van Hollen insisted should have occurred much earlier.
His remarks reflect deepening partisan divisions over Middle East policy and the appropriate American posture toward the Islamic Republic, with progressives increasingly advocating for withdrawal while conservatives maintain pressure on the Tehran regime.
