About

Identity–Liberties (Identité–Libertés, IDL) is a French national-conservative party founded on 7 October 2024 by Marion Maréchal (Le Pen) following her departure from Reconquête. The party holds 4 seats in the European Parliament within the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group, and 3 seats in the French National Assembly. IDL defines itself as the voice of "la droite civilisationnelle" — a civilisational right that is simultaneously anti-immigration, pro-sovereignty, and rooted in France's Christian heritage. Its programme, summarised under the slogan Réarmer la France ("Rearm France"), calls for demographic rearmament through pro-natalist policies, constitutional recognition of France's Christian roots, strict limits on immigration, restoration of educational standards, and economic liberalism paired with strong national defence.

Marion Maréchal (Le Pen), born 10 December 1989 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, is a French politician and the President of Identity–Liberties. She is the granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, founder of the National Front, and the niece of Marine Le Pen. At 22, she became the youngest member of the French National Assembly in modern history (2012–2017), representing Vaucluse. After a period outside politics during which she founded the ISSEP private political school in Lyon, she returned in 2022 as a leading figure of Éric Zemmour's Reconquête. Elected MEP in June 2024 at the head of Reconquête's list, she broke with Zemmour and founded IDL in October 2024, retaining her MEP seat within the ECR group. She holds a degree in public business law from Panthéon-Assas University and an MBA from Emlyon Business School.
