AUR
About
The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) was co-founded by George Simion and Claudiu Târziu in 2019 and entered parliament with a surprise result in the 2020 elections. The party combines Romanian ethnic nationalism, Orthodox Christian values, social conservatism, and unionist sentiment toward Moldova and historical Romanian lands. It grew further in the 2024 elections, becoming one of Romania's major parties, and Simion ran in the 2025 presidential election.
