About

L'Appel au Peuple (AaP) is a small Bonapartist and sovereigntist party founded in 2021 by historian Thierry Choffat and David Saforcada, reviving the name of a 19th-century Bonapartist parliamentary group. It has fielded only a handful of candidates in local and European elections, holds no seats in any French or European chamber, and is not currently tracked by mainstream opinion pollsters.

David Saforcada, a former French military officer, co-founded L'Appel au Peuple in 2021 and has led it since, after previously heading the Bonapartist group France Bonapartiste. He announced a bid for the 2027 French presidential election, though his party remains marginal, with no elected officials or pollster recognition to date.
