Republican Mike Rogers Leads Haley Stevens in Michigan Race

The survey, commissioned by the Michigan Education Association and Business Leaders for Michigan and carried out by the Glengariff Group, shows Rogers ahead of El-Sayed by 10 percentage points in a potential general election matchup, according to Breitbart News.

In a direct contest with Stevens, the Democrat congresswoman holds a razor-thin edge at nearly 46 percent compared to Rogers’ 45 percent, with approximately 9 percent of voters still undecided. The poll’s four-point margin of error means the race is effectively deadlocked.

The Glengariff Group characterized the potential Stevens-Rogers contest as a toss-up in their analysis of the statewide survey of likely voters.

Conducted through live telephone interviews between July 22 and 24, the polling data emerged Tuesday, exactly one week before Michigan voters head to the polls for the Senate primary.

With no primary opposition facing him, Rogers is set to advance directly to the November general election, where he will square off against either El-Sayed or Stevens, who are currently locked in a competitive battle for the Democrat nomination.

The polling breakdown reveals both Stevens and Rogers draw nearly identical support from independent voters, registering at roughly 40 percent and 39 percent respectively. However, Rogers commands a substantial 28-point lead over El-Sayed among this crucial voting bloc.

Stevens maintains a 31-point advantage over El-Sayed among black voters, according to the survey findings.

The Democrat establishment, including Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, has rallied behind Stevens, evidently calculating that the 43-year-old congresswoman presents a stronger general election candidate than her progressive rival.

El-Sayed has drawn backing from the progressive wing of the Democrat Party, securing endorsements from Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
