Rabid Disney fans harass, doxx widow over Magic Kingdom videos
A 61-year-old Disney World fan page operator with 300,000 followers says obsessed theme park enthusiasts have doxxed, stalked, and sent threatening letters to her home over accusations she profits from filming cast members.
Kathleen Koszola, who operates social media accounts under the handle MagicParkMemories with roughly 300,000 followers, told New York Post that enraged Disney fans have made her life a nightmare over accusations she profits from filming cast members at the Florida resort.
The harassment has escalated to the point where angry park devotees have contacted both law enforcement and Disney corporate, demanding she be permanently banned from the property.
One handwritten letter delivered to her residence contained the hostile message: “F–K YOU…Get a job and get a life.”
It’s ruined my life! Koszola said of the relentless attacks she faces on a daily basis.
From Hobby to Villain Status
Koszola launched her MagicParkMemories accounts as a pastime four years ago after losing her job, she explained. But over the past six months, she has been branded a villain by park-obsessed internet users who claim she exploits Disney performers for financial benefit.
A YouTube series produced by The Louie Bee accused Koszola of monopolizing prime viewing spots in front of a piano stage at Magic Kingdom, soliciting tips from her audience, and doxxing a piano performer by sharing his performance schedule online.
Members of the r/ThemeParkSwindlers subreddit have speculated that Disney staff monitor her movements constantly because she poses a security threat. Users on the forum routinely post “Kathleen sightings” whenever they spot her at the parks, according to New York Post.
Widow Defends Her Disney Passion
Koszola acknowledges her deep devotion to Disney World. She relocated to Florida from Illinois in the 1980s following the death of her husband from a brain aneurysm and began visiting the theme park at least twice weekly.
The confrontations have turned physical, she warned. Hostile park visitors have approached her in person, with online threats including desires to spit on her and slap her phone away.
She insists her videos are innocent and that donation income is negligible. Tips sometimes amount to a single penny or a dime, she said, adding that her monthly revenue barely reaches $50.
Tipping Controversy Fuels Anger
One donation marked “$20 for you and $20 for [a performer]” has become a flashpoint, with critics arguing this proves she endangers cast members’ employment by soliciting tips on their behalf.
Disney policy prohibits cast members from accepting gratuities. Koszola denies ever requesting tips for performers and said she used the $20 in question to purchase snacks for a piano player.
Her son Kevin, 37, who works as an accountant, said he has appealed to both Disney management and police for intervention, but the campaign against his mother continues unabated.
Law enforcement has informed the family there is little they can do under current circumstances, Kevin Koszola explained.
Disney Adult Culture Wars
The conflict between Disney enthusiasts and social media influencers is an ongoing phenomenon, with each faction accusing the other of transforming family vacations into disturbing fixations.
In March, a livestreamer was ejected from Disneyland after being swatted while broadcasting from inside the park.
For Koszola, her attachment to Disney World began as a coping mechanism after becoming a widowed single mother. The memories she created at Magic Kingdom provided essential emotional support during that difficult period.
She chose the name MagicParkMemories deliberately, she said, because those experiences hold magical significance for her.
