Exclusive Poll: Broad Support for Trump’s Agenda Ahead of Midterms
A new poll shows majority support for Trump's agenda including election integrity measures and White House security funding, contradicting media reports of division among supporters.
The McLaughlin & Associates survey, commissioned by Tea Party Patriots Citizens Action and first reviewed by Breitbart News, demonstrates that Trump’s policy positions command strong backing across a range of issues despite persistent attempts by mainstream outlets to portray discord among his supporters.
On the question of White House security infrastructure—a topic that has drawn ridicule from Democrats and establishment media—59 percent of respondents agreed that Congress bears responsibility to fund necessary improvements. The proposal includes enhanced security features and underground additions to the complex.
Jenny Beth Martin, chairman of Tea Party Patriots Action, observed that Trump stands on strong ground politically regarding this matter. She emphasized that the polling was conducted prior to the shooting incident that occurred on 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue during the holiday weekend, which only underscored the urgency of security upgrades.
Strong Support for Election Integrity Measures
The survey examined attitudes toward the SAVE America Act, legislation mandating proof of citizenship for voter registration and photo identification at polling places. A solid 56 percent majority indicated that U.S. senators should prioritize passing this bill before the midterm elections.
Even more striking, 82 percent of respondents agreed that only U.S. citizens should be permitted to vote in elections for American president, senators, and representatives—a core principle championed by Trump and his allies throughout his political career.
On birthright citizenship, 58 percent supported limiting automatic citizenship to children born to U.S. citizens or individuals lawfully residing in the country on a permanent basis.
Immigration and American Values
Nearly three-quarters of those surveyed agreed that legal immigrants choosing to establish their lives in America should learn English, embrace American traditions and values, and fully integrate into the country—another position strongly advocated by Trump and his supporters.
Government Fraud and Fiscal Responsibility
The poll revealed extraordinary consensus on fiscal accountability issues. An overwhelming 81 percent identified stopping waste, fraud, and corruption as a top priority, while 83 percent supported requiring a permanent detection and prevention system before taxpayer funds are disbursed. Additionally, 70 percent agreed that eliminating government fraud represents the most direct route to reducing consumer prices.
Martin noted these findings validate Trump’s recent decision to appoint Vice President JD Vance to lead an anti-fraud task force, calling the president’s political instincts dead on.
She stated that strong majorities demand action against fraud in government programs and view cutting government fraud as essential to bringing down prices for American families.
Foreign Policy and National Security
The survey also gauged opinion on international matters, finding that 71 percent of respondents oppose allowing Iran to block, attack, mine, or extort vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Martin summarized the findings by declaring that Trump’s comprehensive political and legislative agenda enjoys robust support from the overwhelming majority of voters, whether on White House security funding, fraud reduction, preventing Iranian control of strategic waterways, ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens, or advancing the SAVE America Act.
Economic Concerns Dominate Voter Priorities
Looking ahead to the midterms, the poll identified economic issues—including inflation, cost of living, the economy, jobs, interest rates, and taxes—as the foremost concerns among respondents.
The survey was conducted May 12-18 among 1,000 general election voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
The results arrive as Trump continues dismissing establishment claims of fractures within the MAGA coalition. When questioned by reporters last week, he assessed the movement as stronger than ever, citing the recent political defeat of Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) in Louisiana as evidence.
Trump later reiterated that MAGA has never been more united, directly challenging media attempts to manufacture division within his political base.
