Moulton: Biden Admin Negotiating ‘Unconditional Surrender to Iran

The Massachusetts congressman made the remarks during an appearance on CNN, where he accused the administration of pursuing what amounts to America’s unconditional surrender to the Islamic Republic, according to Breitbart News.

Seth Moulton did not mince words in his assessment of the negotiations, declaring that this is not a deal. It’s a surrender document. He argued that President Trump initiated military confrontation with Iran without a coherent strategy for victory or resolution, and is now backing down from his initial demands for Iran’s unconditional surrender.

The Democrat lawmaker described the situation as a total loss for American interests. He contended that Trump had called for Iran’s complete capitulation but now appears to be offering America’s own unconditional surrender instead.

When pressed by CNN guest host Kate Bolduan on whether a flawed agreement might still be preferable to no agreement at all, Moulton acknowledged that despite its shortcomings, some deal remains necessary. He explained that absent a full-scale invasion and occupation of Iran—which would require approximately 300,000 American troops to control a nation double the size and population of Iraq—negotiation represents the only viable path forward.

Moulton took a swipe at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, suggesting that even the former Army Ranger would not support such a massive military commitment. He insisted that diplomatic engagement at the negotiating table constitutes the sole realistic alternative, though he maintained that the administration is failing even in those discussions.

The congressman further criticized Trump by suggesting the president’s best hope now is to salvage some version of the nuclear agreement originally negotiated by the Obama administration—the very deal Trump withdrew from during his first term in office.
