Two Jewish Women Expelled From Spanish Spa Over Star of David
Two Jewish women wearing Star of David necklaces were expelled from a Barcelona gay spa after staff questioned whether they were Zionists and physically pushed them out.
The married American couple attempted to enter Sauna Thermas when employees blocked their entry and began interrogating them about their political beliefs after spotting the religious jewelry. Israeli author Hen Mazzig shared video footage of the disturbing confrontation on X.
The video shows a short-haired woman wearing glasses, appearing to be a spa employee, directly asking the women whether they were Zionists. When one of the women objected to the questioning, a second staffer wearing a black tank top interjected to clarify that the issue was not about being Jewish but about being Zionist, displaying what witnesses described as a mocking expression.
One of the women responded that the two identities were essentially the same thing.
The situation escalated physically when the second staffer attempted to knock the phone from the Jewish woman’s hand, claiming she had no right to record inside the facility. Multiple women then surrounded the pair and physically pushed them toward the exit as one pleaded not to be shoved while other spa patrons simply watched.
We don’t condone genocide, one of the short-haired women screamed during the expulsion.
Once outside, the aggressive behavior continued as the group of women attempted repeatedly to swat the phone away and snapped their fingers in the faces of the two victims. The staffer in the black tank top shouted pro-Palestinian slogans at them.
The expelled women approached a security guard stationed outside and explained they had been removed solely because of their Jewish identity. They pointed out that staff had seen their Star of David and told them they could not remain on the premises.
When the pair asked whether they could return to the spa, the bouncer informed them entry would not be permitted because they had been recording. The women offered to put away their phones if allowed back inside, but the staffer in the black tank top returned and definitively rejected their request, telling the bouncer it was a firm no.
The two women filed a police report following the incident, as New York Post reports.
