President Donald Trump will only pursue an agreement with Iran that meets his strict redlines, a White House official confirmed to NewsFire following a high-level Situation Room meeting held Friday afternoon.

According to Breitbart News, the meeting ran for approximately two hours as administration officials weighed a potential framework involving Tehran’s nuclear program. President Trump made clear through official channels that any deal must serve American interests and prevent Iran from ever acquiring nuclear weapons.

The gathering comes as reports emerged that U.S. and Iranian negotiators have drafted a tentative agreement extending an April ceasefire, pending presidential approval. The proposed framework would reportedly open a 60-day negotiating window focused on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, including the fate of Tehran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium and future enrichment operations.

Earlier Friday morning, Trump outlined his non-negotiable demands in a Truth Social post, signaling he would make a final determination during the Situation Room session. His conditions include Iran’s commitment to never develop nuclear weapons, immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, removal of all water mines from the strategic waterway, and the transfer of enriched uranium to the United States for destruction.

The president detailed in his post that enriched material buried deep underground—following a B2 bomber attack 11 months prior that collapsed mountains over the sites—would be excavated by the United States in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Trump specified that only the United States and China possess the mechanical capability to undertake such an operation, and emphasized that no financial exchange would occur until further notice.

Trump also addressed ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz due to a U.S. naval blockade, announcing the blockade would be lifted and vessels could begin their journey home. He extended personal greetings to the families of those aboard the detained ships.

Despite the lengthy deliberations, the New York Times reported late Friday that a senior administration official stated the president had not reached a final decision on any new deal with Iran. The administration appears to be proceeding cautiously as negotiations continue over one of the most consequential foreign policy challenges facing the United States.
