Trump Fires Back at Protester Interrupting Myrtle Beach Rally
President Trump mocked a protester at his South Carolina rally, saying the person would be scolded by their mother who supports him, before urging voters to back Darline Graham.
The incident unfolded at approximately 7:28 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, where a protester stood up and interrupted the President’s remarks before being removed by police and convention center personnel, according to a White House pool report cited by New York Post.
As security escorted the disruptor from the venue, President Trump briefly paused his speech to address the commotion with characteristic humor.
That person’s going home to mom. Gonna get scolded because mom is voting for us, Trump remarked before seamlessly returning to his prepared remarks.
The President traveled to Myrtle Beach to rally support for Darline Graham ahead of Tuesday’s South Carolina Senate runoff election, emphasizing the critical importance of voter turnout even when his own name does not appear on the ballot.
Trump Urges Supporters to Vote as if He’s on the Ballot
Addressing concerns about Republican turnout, Trump made an explicit appeal to his base to treat the runoff election with the same urgency as a presidential contest.
The President asked supporters to pretend he was on the ballot and stressed the importance of showing up to vote. He emphasized that their participation remained crucial despite the absence of his name from the ballot.
Trump revealed he personally encouraged Graham to enter the race and proceeded to outline his case for sending her to Washington as South Carolina’s next senator.
Graham’s Platform and Trump’s Endorsement
According to the President, Graham would champion common sense policies in the nation’s capital, including lower taxes, increased wages, opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens, and unwavering protection of Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.
Trump particularly highlighted Graham’s commitment to supporting the armed forces, stating she would advocate for the military as strongly as any senator, and perhaps more than most.
Darline Graham later joined the President onstage, expressing gratitude for his endorsement and acknowledging his friendship with her late senator brother, Lindsey. She thanked Trump for his support and for making the trip to South Carolina, declaring the state as MAGA country.
