Trump Admin Rejected Israel’s Request to See Iran Deal Text
The United States has refused to share its newly negotiated memorandum of understanding with Iran with Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, despite Israel's conflict with Iranian proxies.
Amichai Stein, diplomatic correspondent for i24 News, disclosed the stunning development on social media Tuesday, stating that when Israel requested access to the Iran-US agreement, the administration flatly denied the request.
The Israeli embassy in Washington has not issued a statement on the matter, though multiple officials confirmed to New York Post that they remain unaware of what the document contains.
Sources with knowledge of Israeli politics confirmed that Netanyahu himself has been excluded from reviewing the deal, a remarkable snub given the strategic implications for Israeli security.
Senior American officials indicated Tuesday that Washington is not prepared to make the memorandum public yet. President Trump and Iranian media outlets have both stated the document will be released following a formal signing ceremony scheduled to take place in Switzerland this Friday.
The White House has not responded to requests for comment on why America’s closest Middle Eastern ally has been kept in the dark about an agreement with its primary regional adversary.
