ΕΛΠΙΔΑ για τη Δημοκρατία (Hope for Democracy) is a Greek political movement founded on 21 May 2026 by Maria Karystianou. Maria Karystianou is a Greek pediatrician. She came to prominence as a public voice for accountability following the Tempi train disaster of February 2023, in which her son lost his life. Her sustained civic campaign for institutional responsibility brought her broad public recognition across the political spectrum. In May 2026 she channelled that activism into founding ΕΛΠΙΔΑ για τη Δημοκρατία.
