Steve Hilton: Becerra Pushed Migrant Kids to Sex Traffickers
California Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton accused former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra of deliberately dismantling safeguards and enabling child sex trafficking of migrant minors.
The former Fox News commentator made the explosive allegations during an appearance on The Alex Marlow Show on Saturday, according to Breitbart News.
Steve Hilton rejected the commonly cited narrative that Becerra simply lost track of migrant children under his watch. Instead, he argued that the former HHS Secretary actively dismantled protective safeguards and knowingly pushed vulnerable minors into dangerous situations.
People say he lost 85,000 migrant kids. No, he didn’t lose them, Hilton stated, before detailing what he believes actually occurred under Becerra’s leadership.
The Republican candidate explained that Becerra deliberately pushed children out of the federal system without proper vetting or concern for their ultimate destinations. He accused the former Cabinet official of dismantling established protection mechanisms, thereby delivering migrant children directly into the hands of sex traffickers.
Hilton expressed confidence that this record would become a decisive issue should he face Xavier Becerra in a general election matchup for California’s governorship.
The allegations center on the approximately 85,000 unaccompanied migrant children who entered federal custody during the Biden administration and whose subsequent whereabouts became unclear after placement with sponsors.
Becerra served as Secretary of Health and Human Services from March 2021 until stepping down earlier this year to pursue his gubernatorial ambitions in California.
