Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi participated in a special patriotic initiative showcasing love of country from federal lawmakers and officials, according to Breitbart News.

The Republican senator emphasized America’s standing as a beacon of opportunity where dedication and effort translate into achievement. She highlighted the constitutional framework that safeguards the rights and freedoms Americans enjoy daily.

Hyde-Smith pointed to the ability to worship freely and pursue individual aspirations as fundamental reasons for her deep appreciation of the country. She drew from personal experience to illustrate these freedoms, noting her family’s cattle ranching operation which has held weekly live auctions since 1942.

The senator made history as the first woman ever elected to represent Mississippi in the nation’s capital. She initially joined the Senate through appointment after longtime Senator Thad Cochran vacated his seat, then won election in her own right in November 2020.
