Reform UK's deputy leader Richard Tice is under investigation for allegedly failing to declare an Israel trip during an antisemitism debate, which the party calls politically motivated.

Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Daniel Greenberg launched the investigation on July 28, according to Alice Tomlinson writing in GB News. The probe centers on whether Tice should have referenced a trip to Israel during his June 22 speech addressing UK democracy and Israeli influence.

A Reform source told the Telegraph the investigation was bewildering, noting that Tice was fighting anti-Semitism in Westminster Hall when the alleged violation occurred.

Tice took to social media to condemn what he characterized as a politically motivated inquiry. He pointed out that he is being investigated for standing against antisemitism while speaking about democratic principles, describing the situation as absurd.

The Reform deputy leader noted that the complaint was filed by what he described as an antisemitic anti-Israel lobby group. He further highlighted what he called a double standard, claiming the same organization failed to notify the Commissioner about Labour MP Ayoub Khan, who allegedly did not declare a substantial donation from a pro-Palestine group.

According to the UK Parliament website, Tice properly declared his September visit to Israel on October 19 last year. The trip was funded by a pro-Israel lobby organization. Reform maintains that all appropriate declarations were made in accordance with parliamentary rules.

The investigation adds to mounting scrutiny facing Reform UK from establishment political forces. A Labour Party spokesman suggested the controversies surrounding the party indicate Reform believes normal rules do not apply to them.

Reform UK has characterized the investigation as part of a broader pattern of establishment attempts to undermine the party’s growing political influence in Britain.
