Men with “Southern Appearance” Beat 41-Year-Old to Hospital
A 41-year-old man is in critical condition after being attacked by young men who assaulted multiple visitors without provocation at a traditional Pentecost festival in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The violent incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Auhäger Pfingstbier, a historic Pentecost festival in the small community of Auhagen, located in the Schaumburg district of Lower Saxony.
Police reports indicate that the attackers struck at approximately 1:43 a.m., targeting several festival attendees in what eyewitnesses described as completely unprovoked assaults. The attacks took place on the street directly in front of the festival tent, with witnesses stating that no prior altercation or dispute had occurred before the violence erupted.
The 41-year-old victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Several other festival visitors were also injured during the rampage.
Suspects Remain at Large
According to the police report, the perpetrators are described as “young men, possibly under 20 years old, with southern appearance” — a phrase commonly used in German police descriptions. The suspects fled the scene immediately following the attacks and have not yet been identified.
Authorities in Stadthagen are actively investigating the case and have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident.
The Auhäger Pfingstbier is a longstanding community tradition that dates back to approximately 1750, organized as a village family festival to celebrate Pentecost. The violent disruption of this peaceful cultural event has shocked the small rural community.
