Leftist Agenda’s Self-Destructive Pillars Begin to Crumble

The downfall of movements like MeToo and Black Lives Matter reveals a pattern of left-wing initiatives that begin as supposedly righteous campaigns but deteriorate into self-parody and fraud, according to New York Post.

The MeToo movement has been effectively neutralized by sexual misconduct scandals involving prominent Democratic figures, including former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and California Representative Eric Swalwell. Most recently, Maine senatorial candidate and self-styled socialist Graham Platner was exposed for maintaining an extensive social media history filled with vulgar and pornographic attacks on women.

Similarly, Black Lives Matter has proven to be built largely on fraudulent narratives, continuing a tradition that stretches from Al Sharpton’s discredited Tawana Brawley case through the Duke lacrosse hoax. The movement’s signature moment—the aftermath of George Floyd’s death—inflicted lasting harm on American society that persists today.

The Wreckage of Social Justice Activism

The summer of lawlessness that followed Floyd’s death spawned ongoing urban chaos, including intersection takeovers, statue destruction, historical revisionism, and violent demonstrations. Thousands of police officers lost their jobs nationwide during the reckless “defund the police” hysteria.

Fashionable “critical race” and “critical legal” theories drove the adoption of no-cash bail policies that resulted in the near-immediate release of hundreds of thousands of violent criminals back onto American streets.

Elite universities responded by abandoning SAT admission requirements and expanding race-based admissions in reflexive fashion. Administrative bureaucracies across universities and corporations created thousands of diversity, equity and inclusion positions. The outcome was decidedly not improved race relations.

Climate Alarmism and Border Chaos

The pattern extends beyond racial politics. Multiple American and international agencies and supposed experts have quietly acknowledged that global warming was never the existential threat the left insisted would destroy the planet within a decade. Yet the economic and social costs of climate hysteria remain enormous.

The postmodern globalist fantasy of a borderless utopian world has inflicted such severe damage on Western nations that even European leftists now fear political annihilation from the massive influx of often hostile illegal migrants. Millions of unlawful and unvetted entrants have crashed through borders with no intention of integrating or assimilating to their host countries, driving up crime rates, fueling antisemitism, and creating unsustainable social welfare burdens.

Transgender Movement and Manufactured Crises

The transgender crusade represents the left’s latest attempt to construct a new victim class with reparatory claims against the traditional majority. An epidemic of teenagers began questioning whether they might be “trans” and considering dangerous hormonal and chemical interventions.

These periodic episodes of collective madness share common characteristics. They originate almost exclusively in the affluent, leisured contemporary West, which alone possesses the capital and resources to indulge such spectacles. The frenzies are typically created by the left and incubated in universities, media outlets, and bureaucracies.

Elite Strategy and Public Resistance

The progressive elite recognize that ordinary Western voters will not willingly embrace their unpopular agenda of racial obsession, globalism, soft-on-crime policies, and degrowth environmentalism. Their strategy therefore relies on four elements: opening borders to create a more dependent constituency; manufacturing fake working-class candidates like the privileged Platner; destroying established institutions like the Electoral College and Supreme Court; and generating apocalyptic pseudo-crises that justify massive tax increases and expanded government control.

Growing numbers of Americans and Westerners are rejecting environmental extremists, gender ideologues, race-baiting profiteers, open-borders advocates, and ungrateful migrants—a sign that effective resistance to this destructive agenda is building.
