According to Breitbart News, Carly Kimmel—married to Jimmy Kimmel‘s brother Jonathan, who previously worked on the host’s program—reportedly objected to “Vote Pratt” cookies stocked at Vicente Foods, a family-owned grocer operating in the Brentwood area since 1948. The allegation surfaced through a viral social media post.
Kitson, an upscale Los Angeles fashion and lifestyle boutique with a celebrity client base including Paris Hilton, Kate Beckinsale, Angelina Jolie, and Janet Jackson, amplified the claim by posting that it had “spoke to a reliable source” confirming the complaint originated from Carly Kimmel. The boutique shared images of the cookies alongside a screenshot of Carly Kimmel‘s Instagram account.
Kitson’s public response carried sharp commentary. The boutique wrote, “Attacking a small business seems to run in the family,” and referenced recent Supreme Court victories favoring bakeries in freedom of speech cases. Vicente Foods, which describes itself as specializing in premium meats, fresh produce, and competitive pricing, became the focal point of public support.
Social media users expressed frustration with the allegations. Critics questioned the Kimmel family’s judgment, while others rallied behind the grocer. One commenter stated, “I encourage everyone to go buy something from the bakery to show your support for this small business owner,” while another noted purchasing the cookies weeks after their release.

The allegations surface following an April 28 Breitbart News report documenting Jimmy Kimmel‘s repeated joke about first lady Melania Trump appearing as an “expectant widow,” which he attributed to age differences and her facial expressions. Days after that monologue aired, an individual was arrested following an alleged attempt to breach security at a presidential event. First Lady Melania Trump publicly accused Kimmel of “hateful and violent rhetoric,” while President Trump called for his termination from ABC.
On May 4, Breitbart News reported that Kimmel made jokes about former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani days before Giuliani’s hospitalization. Giuliani had previously called Kimmel among the most offensive public figures in the nation.
