Kayleigh McEnany: Jill Biden Lied About Joe’s Condition
Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany accused former first lady Jill Biden of deceiving Americans about President Joe Biden's mental fitness based on conflicting statements in her new memoir.
The controversy centers on statements Mrs. Biden made immediately after her husband’s disastrous debate performance, contrasted with claims now appearing in her memoir. During a campaign event following the debate, the former first lady publicly praised the president, telling him he had done a great job and answered every question.
Appearing Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” Kayleigh McEnany responded to co-host Dana Perino, who questioned whether Mrs. Biden was lying then or now about what she witnessed during the debate.
McEnany delivered a scathing assessment of the former first lady’s behavior. That is not the reaction of someone who believes they just watched their husband have a stroke, she stated, characterizing Mrs. Biden’s public statements as fraud perpetrated on the American public.
The Fox News host went further, challenging Mrs. Biden’s claim in her book that she had never seen her husband in such a condition before or after the debate. McEnany cited reporting from journalist Carl Bernstein, who said sources close to Biden—people who knew, loved, and supported him—insisted the debate performance was far from an isolated incident.
According to those sources, similar episodes had occurred 15 to 20 times previously, with Biden losing his train of thought. Bernstein described one fundraiser where the president reportedly froze up and appeared to experience some type of rigor mortis.
McEnany concluded by questioning why Mrs. Biden continued what she characterized as a fraud on the American people, given that Biden’s cognitive difficulties were allegedly well known to those in his inner circle.
