Aroldo Santos-Velasques was found guilty of aggravated sexual battery and attempted sexual battery following the May 2024 attack on the child, which occurred while another minor was present in the room.

Prosecutors successfully argued that Santos-Velasques raped the young victim before his arrest in Leesburg, Virginia. He faced charges including rape and using an object for sexual penetration.

Lauren Bis of the Department of Homeland Security described the convicted criminal as a monster in her statement following the sentencing.

The DHS official issued a direct challenge to Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, calling on the Democratic governor to abandon her sanctuary policies and transfer the convicted pedophile to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody once his sentence concludes.

Bis warned that failure to cooperate with federal immigration authorities could allow the criminal to return to American streets and potentially harm another innocent child.

The DHS spokesperson emphasized that under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, the administration will not permit criminal illegal alien pedophiles to target innocent children in American communities.

Previous Border Violations

Santos-Velasques has a documented history of illegal entry into the United States. He first crossed the southern border illegally from Mexico into Texas in 2014 and was subsequently deported.

The Guatemalan national later re-entered the country illegally as an unknown got-away, evading detection by border authorities before committing his crimes in Virginia.
