ICE Victims Office Fields 900 Calls from Angel Families
ICE's Victim Of Immigration Crime Engagement office has received nearly 900 calls from American victims and families reporting crimes by illegal aliens, mostly violent offenses like assault, rape, and murder.
Data reviewed by the outlet shows that close to 600 calls were placed to the Victim Of Immigration Crime Engagement office by Americans directly victimized by illegal aliens. Another 185 calls came from family members of victims. Additional calls were made by concerned citizens, friends of victims, anonymous callers, and representatives from non-governmental organizations.
The overwhelming majority of crimes reported by callers involved violent offenses including assault, rape, and murder.
David J. Venturella, Acting ICE Director, emphasized the administration’s commitment to addressing these crimes. He stated that President Trump has prioritized justice for victims of illegal alien crime, and that the Department of Homeland Security is delivering on that promise by providing victims and their families with direct access to information, support, and accountability regarding criminal aliens in federal custody.
Most Calls Seek Case Updates
The bulk of incoming calls to the VOICE office requested updates on existing cases. Approximately one quarter of callers sought victim services and support resources.
President Donald Trump restored the VOICE office last year after it was dismantled and repurposed during the previous administration. Former President Joe Biden‘s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had transformed the victim advocacy office into a unit serving illegal aliens rather than American victims.
Venturella underscored that VOICE provides victims of illegal alien crime and their families with a clear and direct point of contact within DHS. Whether Americans are seeking information about an illegal alien’s status, requesting case updates, or connecting to support resources, the office’s mission remains straightforward: victims will be heard, kept informed, and no longer left in the dark.
