The unidentified man was detained by several officers wearing masks, bulletproof vests, and carrying rifles in an encounter that lasted approximately five minutes, witnesses reported.

Charlie Steinberg, a 17-year-old witness, observed an SUV arrive at the scene and multiple individuals exit the vehicle in tactical gear. She immediately alerted a nearby resident identified only as Manoj, who watched the arrest unfold from his window.

Manoj described how officers searched the suspect thoroughly before placing him in custody. They went through his pockets, took everything out, and then put him into their car, he stated.

Video footage of the incident shows at least six federal officers involved in the operation. One officer wore a vest marked “police federal officer,” though the agents lacked uniform clothing beyond their tactical vests, with some wearing bandanas to conceal their faces.

The vehicle near the arrested individual was registered to Marvin Godoy Calderon, who has a criminal history including an October 2023 arrest connected to a stolen merchandise operation. Calderon, then 43 years old, was cited and released for possession of stolen property under California Penal Code 496(a).

San Francisco District 7 Supervisor Myrna Melgar confirmed to the SF Standard that Immigration and Customs Enforcement took a man into custody and that legal counsel is now representing him, though she declined to identify the individual.

According to Manoj, the arrested man had recently moved to the street and spoke limited English.

The SF Rapid Response Network, an organization that tracks ICE enforcement activity, reported receiving notification of suspicious activity at the arrest location. The specific federal agency responsible for the operation remains unconfirmed.
