Ex-Giants Star Aubrey Huff Slams Team’s Pride Night Bible Giveaway
Former Giants player Aubrey Huff posted a vulgar, homophobic social media rant about the team's Pride Night after pitchers wrote Bible verses on their Pride-themed caps.
Aubrey Huff, who played first base for the Giants between 2010 and 2012, posted the rant on X Wednesday morning in response to general manager Buster Posey‘s press conference remarks from Tuesday, according to New York Post.
The controversy centers on several Giants pitchers who recently wrote Bible verses on their Pride-themed caps, creating a clash between the team’s Pride Night promotion and religious expression by players.
Huff claimed he knew what Posey truly wanted to say when facing reporters’ questions about the situation, asserting that his views reflected those of most players, coaches, and executives from the Giants’ World Series championship teams.
The former player, who was part of the Giants’ 2010 and 2012 World Series winning squads during the team’s dynasty that captured three titles in five years, used extremely crude and derogatory language throughout his post.
His statement included vulgar attacks on the LGBTQ community and dismissive comments about baseball viewership, employing slurs and offensive terminology repeatedly.
Huff has built a reputation for inflammatory statements on social media since his retirement from professional baseball. His latest outburst represents one of his most explicitly offensive posts to date.
The incident highlights ongoing tensions between professional sports organizations’ embrace of progressive social causes and pushback from players who object on religious or personal grounds.
