Epstein Obsessed With Taking Down Trump Before Death: Report
Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein spent his final days desperately trying to find damaging information about President Trump to secure leniency from prosecutors but found nothing.
According to New York Post, Epstein became obsessed with attempting to provide incriminating evidence against Trump as his legal team worked unsuccessfully to negotiate a deal with federal prosecutors during the president’s first term in office.
Jeffrey Epstein filled legal pads with scattered one-liners about the commander-in-chief during his numerous extended meetings with attorneys following his arrest and detention at a federal facility in Lower Manhattan. His notes contained phrases such as “Trump is a total con artist — smoke & mirrors” and “Never had money,” the outlet reports.
The disgraced financier’s writings also included complaints about his treatment as a wealthy “Pedophile in jail,” claiming he was being denied telephone privileges and visitor access.
Epstein documented his frustrations about the impossibility of preparing an adequate defense amid the relentless noise from the Special Housing Unit at the now-closed Metropolitan Correctional Center where he was held.
In his notes, Epstein alleged that correctional officers would have ignored any physical assault against him. He claimed guards told his cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, a convicted murderer and former New York police officer, that if Tartaglione attacked him, no official report would be filed.
Epstein was discovered deceased in his cell on August 19, 2019. Tartaglione later stated the floor was covered with nooses and materials used to construct them.
