Communist Streamer Hasan Piker Berates Moderates in Mao Costume
Far-left streamer Hasan Piker wore a Mao-style suit at a College Democrats convention while calling moderate Democrats collaborators with fascism, drawing sharp criticism.
Piker, a millennial Marxist content creator and millionaire nephew of The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur, delivered his remarks at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, targeting Democrats who work across the aisle with what he characterized as a fascist administration.
Anti-gun activist Shannon R. Watts sharply criticized both Piker’s speech and his choice of attire, posting on X that he appeared dressed like Mao while expressing hatred for the majority of Democrats as an invited guest of the College Democrats organization.
Watts further condemned Piker as a dangerous and hateful extremist who should be shunned by the Democratic Party and its candidates. She specifically called for voters to hold accountable anyone campaigning alongside him, including Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El Sayed.
Despite the historical record of Mao’s communist regime causing tens of millions of deaths in China, Piker has previously told his audience that he refuses to criticize the Chinese dictator, whom he described as one of the great leaders of the world, as Breitbart News reports.
Television personality and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt also condemned Piker for appearing dressed as Mao while brainwashing college students.
Pratt wrote on X that the movement has always been communist in nature, directly identifying Piker and his allies as communists.
Last month, both Piker and Uygur were barred from entering the United Kingdom ahead of planned public appearances after the British government determined their presence would not be conducive to the public good.
Piker previously sparked controversy when he declared that the United States deserved the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.
