Billions for Iran, Vague Promises in Return
Booker outlined what he sees as a fundamentally imbalanced agreement. Iran, he stated, receives concrete financial benefits including billions of dollars in sanctions relief and the ability to sell oil on international markets. In exchange, the United States has secured only uncertain commitments about potential future nuclear negotiations.
The New Jersey senator argued that President Trump promised Americans an unconditional Iranian surrender earlier this year but has instead delivered the opposite outcome.

When host Chris Hayes pressed Booker on whether signing the agreement was still preferable to continuing military operations, the senator refused to endorse the deal despite his longstanding opposition to the conflict itself.
