ABC’s Hostin: I’m Embarrassed at How America Is Now Seen
"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin called America a "failed experiment" and said she is embarrassed by the government, healthcare system, and the nation's declining international reputation.
ABC’s “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin delivered a scathing condemnation of the United States during Friday’s broadcast, declaring she is “embarrassed” by America and describing the nation as a “failed experiment.”
According to Breitbart News, Hostin launched into an extensive critique of the country during the program, expressing deep dissatisfaction with multiple aspects of American governance and society.
The co-host stated she feels embarrassed by the government, the healthcare system, what she characterized as an assault on the press, and Congress. She went on to criticize the president as a “criminal felon” and took issue with a UFC cage installed on the White House lawn.
Hostin expanded her criticism to America’s standing internationally, claiming the nation’s allies are now giving the United States a one-star rating. She argued that many Americans fail to understand that the country is part of what she called a “wonderful global community.”
The television personality stated she feels conflicted about this country and expressed that America has become, in her view, a failed experiment. She added that she is discouraged by how the rest of the world now perceives the United States.
When fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pressed Hostin on whether she believed the country had already failed and was beyond redemption, Hostin clarified her position slightly, stating that at this point America is currently failing.
The remarks represent some of the harshest criticism of the nation to air on the daytime talk show, which has frequently featured political commentary from its panel of hosts.
