Trump Blasts Netanyahu Over Israel’s Beirut Strike Operation
President Trump rebuked Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu over Beirut strikes, demanding an immediate halt as Washington neared completion of a major agreement with Iran.
According to Breitbart News, Trey Yingst, chief foreign correspondent for Fox News, revealed on X that he had spoken directly with Trump, who confirmed a deal with Iran was expected to be finalized within two to three hours of their conversation.
During a phone call with Netanyahu, Trump sharply questioned the Israeli leader’s decision-making regarding the strikes on Lebanon’s capital. Yingst reported that the President explicitly instructed Netanyahu to refrain from conducting additional strikes against targets in the country.
Trump also indicated he would personally ask Iran not to respond with missile attacks toward Israel, in an effort to preserve the diplomatic momentum surrounding the pending agreement.
In a statement posted to Truth Social, the President declared that Israel’s attack on Lebanon should not have happened, particularly given the timing coincided with what he described as a special day when peace negotiations with Tehran were reaching a critical juncture.
Trump called for an immediate cessation of all Israeli military action anywhere in Lebanon, while simultaneously demanding that no party launch attacks against Israel that could derail the peace process.
The President characterized the incident that prompted Israel’s response as minimal in significance, noting that no casualties resulted from the initial provocation. He emphasized that such a minor incident should not be allowed to disrupt the broader diplomatic effort to bring stability to the region, including Lebanon.
Iran Nuclear Agreement Near Completion
The Beirut strikes occurred just one day after Trump announced on Saturday that a comprehensive deal with Iran would be signed on Sunday, prior to an Ultimate Fighting Championship event scheduled at the White House.
In his Saturday statement on Truth Social, Trump revealed that Iran had abandoned its pursuit of nuclear weapons capabilities. The agreement reportedly ensures that Tehran will not obtain nuclear weapons through any means, whether by purchase, development, or other forms of acquisition.
Trump also confirmed that the Hormuz Strait would be opened to all maritime traffic immediately upon the signing of the agreement, a significant development for global energy markets and regional security.
