Pete Hegseth’s D-Day Speech Warns Europe: Get Smart or Get Invaded

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned at D-Day commemorations that Europe faces civilizational suicide through mass migration, comparing modern migrant arrivals to past threats the continent faced.

Speaking in northwestern France on the 82nd anniversary of the June 6, 1944 Allied landings that liberated Europe from Nazi tyranny, Hegseth drew a stark parallel between past and present threats to the continent, as New York Post reports.

The War Secretary pointed out that while American troops once stormed Normandy beaches to defeat Hitler’s dangerous ideology, today European shores face invasion from different dangerous ideologies. He specifically referenced beaches in Spain, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria where boats carrying migrants continue to arrive.

Hegseth challenged European capitals directly, questioning when they would address this invasion or whether it was already too late. His remarks came as a warning from an ally observing a friend making catastrophic mistakes.

Predictably, out-of-touch elites across both sides of the Atlantic attacked the Defense Secretary for his comments. However, his weekend remarks align with increasingly forceful warnings from Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Europe’s greatest challenges are self-inflicted through unprecedented mass migration and abandonment of Western values.

Two British Murders Prove the Point

Current events in the United Kingdom dramatically illustrate the warnings issued by American leadership. Two recent murder cases dominating British headlines demonstrate the catastrophic consequences of failed migration policies and institutional decay.

Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old university freshman, was stabbed to death in Southampton, England by Vickrum Singh Digwa, a British Sikh who filmed and taunted the teenager as he died, according to New York Post.

When police arrived, Digwa lied about being the victim of a racist attack. The DEI-brainwashed officers believed him and ignored Nowak’s obvious distress and pleas that he could not breathe and had been stabbed. One callous officer dismissed the dying student’s claims while handcuffing him.

The last words Nowak heard were an officer reading him his rights as his killer looked on. Digwa was later convicted of murder for the December attack. Police bodycam footage released this month has outraged a British public fed up with political leaders from both major parties who have abandoned them.

Attempted Beheading in Belfast

Exactly 48 hours after Hegseth’s Normandy speech, Hadi Alodid, a 30-year-old Sudanese illegal immigrant granted asylum seeker status, brutally attacked Stephen Ogilvie in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Witnesses and video footage captured what appeared to be an attempted beheading in the middle of a public street. Ogilvie, 44, reportedly lost his left eye and suffered serious wounds to his head, face and neck. He had been living next door to a taxpayer-funded apartment where Alodid had just been placed.

Gruesome bystander footage showing Alodid straddling Ogilvie while slashing at his head and neck sparked violent anti-immigration protests across Europe. Citizens have grown increasingly fed up with thousands of similar barbaric attacks since political leaders opened their borders, mirroring the disastrous policies Joe Biden imposed on America.

American Victims of Open Borders

The United States experienced its own horrors under Biden’s open border policies. The brutal rapes and murders of Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, Laken Riley, 22, Rachel Morin, 37, and Kayla Hamilton, 20, at the hands of illegal migrants stand as permanent indictments of Democratic Party priorities.

President Trump has provided the antidote to open borders, sealing the southern border in record time and working to deport Biden’s illegal aliens while rapidly building the wall Congress previously blocked during his first term.

European Elites Remain Deaf to Public Concerns

European political leadership appears deaf and blind to rising public alarm about illegal migration, with no relief valve in sight. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer prioritizes censoring critics of Britain’s catastrophic mass-migration experiment over protecting citizens.

Starmer took particular offense when Vance condemned Britain’s handling of the Nowak murder in a post on X last week. The Vice President stated that Nowak would still be alive if recent generations of European elites had stood against the politics of self-hatred and mass migrant invasion.

Vance noted that many migrants despise the West and those who love it. He observed that Nowak died the same way civilizations die—abandoned and handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, while being accused of hate crimes he did not commit.

Starmer responded with a statement attacking those attempting to interfere in British democracy and seeking to stir up division. His defensive posture reflects a broader European elite refusal to acknowledge the crisis unfolding in their streets.
