The U.S. president took to his Truth Social platform Wednesday to criticize Tehran’s military capabilities and signal his frustration with the pace of diplomatic talks, according to Breitbart News.

Donald Trump described Iran’s armed forces as being in disarray, claiming significant portions of the country’s naval and air capabilities have been neutralized through recent confrontations.

They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price, the president warned in his social media statement.

The sharp rhetoric follows overnight military exchanges between Washington and Tehran after Iranian forces shot down an American Apache attack helicopter conducting patrol operations near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz waterway.

Trump confirmed that a response was warranted and ordered U.S. forces to conduct defensive strikes against Iranian military infrastructure, as Breitbart News reports.

U.S. Central Command announced that American forces began executing self-defense strikes at approximately 5 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, characterizing the military action as a measured reply to what officials termed unjustified Iranian aggression.

The strikes targeted Iranian radar installations, air-defense systems, and command-and-control facilities situated around the Strait of Hormuz region.

Despite the military confrontation, administration officials indicated that Washington remains committed to pursuing diplomatic channels with Tehran, seeking to balance firm response with continued engagement on a potential peace framework.

The incident marks a significant escalation in U.S.-Iran tensions while both nations have reportedly been exploring terms for a broader Middle East settlement.
