Vivica A. Fox: I Trust Career Politicians Over Reality Stars

Vivica A. Fox sparked controversy by arguing that only career politicians should hold office while criticizing reality TV star Spencer Pratt's Los Angeles mayoral campaign.

Fox made the remarks during a street interview in New York City this week, according to Breitbart News, when a TMZ reporter raised concerns about urban problems plaguing major cities like Los Angeles and New York, including widespread homelessness.

The Independence Day star appeared to blame President Donald Trump for current economic troubles, stating that the nation’s financial challenges stem from allowing entertainment figures into politics. It’s why our economy is in trouble right now, Fox claimed during the exchange.

Reality Star Campaign Draws Hollywood Criticism

Fox specifically targeted former reality television personality Spencer Pratt, who has emerged as a viable challenger to incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, in the upcoming election. The actress warned against trusting reality stars who enter the political arena.

In a puzzling defense of establishment politicians, Fox argued that effective political leadership requires making politics a lifelong profession rather than entering public service from outside careers. She suggested that politicians who make a career out of being a politician are inherently more trustworthy than newcomers to the field.

From Reality TV to Political Activism

Pratt announced his mayoral campaign earlier this year at the “They Let Us Burn” rally held in Pacific Palisades, marking the one-year anniversary of devastating wildfires that destroyed numerous properties throughout the region.

Both Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, who co-starred with him on the reality series The Hills, lost their home in the fires. The couple has since become vocal critics of both Mayor Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom, also a Democrat, over their handling of the wildfire crisis and its aftermath.

The criticism from Fox represents a broader tension within Hollywood over outsider candidates challenging established political figures in California’s Democratic strongholds.
