US plan to ban entry of pregnant women for security reasons
The Trump administration is considering banning pregnant foreign women from entering the U.S. on tourist visas to prevent birthright citizenship, citing national security concerns.
According to the report, the presidential administration is exploring the possibility of implementing binding restrictions against foreign women who are in the final stages of pregnancy and entering the United States on tourist visas, solely to give birth on American soil.
The presidential advisor’s statement on immigration matters
Stephen Miller, presidential advisor to the Trump administration, explained the reasoning behind this policy proposal. “There are tourist visas that allow them to enter the U.S. simply to give birth. They could have a child who returns to China, grows up under a communist regime, and then returns here, enrolls in university, and steals intellectual property. This is clearly a national security issue,” he stated.
The measures being considered and proposed solutions
United States government agencies are examining various measures to address the phenomenon. The plan includes prosecuting individuals and legal entities involved in such schemes, as well as the possible tightening of entry regulations for pregnant foreign women who plan to travel to the United States with the sole purpose of obtaining citizenship for their baby.
