UK ‘Equality Law’ Bars White Men From Government Internship

Britain's National Audit Office faces criticism for limiting a taxpayer-funded internship to only black, female, or economically disadvantaged candidates under equality law provisions.

The National Audit Office, a government-funded body responsible for overseeing public spending, has invoked a provision in the Equality Act 2010 that permits organizations to employ “positive action” to address alleged disadvantage or underrepresentation of certain ethnic or gender groups, according to Breitbart News.

The controversial six-week summer internship carries a salary of £25,089 and is explicitly designed to support what the NAO describes as “diverse talent”. The position will be categorically unavailable to white males from middle or upper-class backgrounds, irrespective of their qualifications or merit.

Beyond the substantial financial compensation, the internship offers participants valuable networking opportunities and direct mentorship from experienced professionals within the audit sector, representing career advancement pathways that will be restricted based on race and background rather than ability.

A spokesman for the National Audit Office defended the program, stating that the diversity internship schemes provide valuable work experience in auditing and are intended to open doors for people underrepresented in the sector, including those from less affluent backgrounds.

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, has placed the elimination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies and so-called positive discrimination at the center of his party’s platform. The issue has gained heightened urgency following the recent murder trial concerning 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who died in police custody after officers reportedly dismissed his claims of being stabbed by Vikrum Digwa, a Sikh man who had accused Nowak of racism.

Farage has argued that the DEI ideology fundamentally distorts how information is processed within institutions, creating a two-tier justice system that demonstrates systemic bias against Britain’s native white population.

Reform UK Shadow Home Secretary Zia Yusuf condemned the NAO internship restrictions as blatant discrimination, insisting that positions must be awarded purely on merit. This is anti-white, anti-merit ideology masquerading as diversity and inclusion, he declared.

Former Home Secretary and current Reform UK Shadow Education and Equalities Minister Suella Braverman characterized the program as embodying anti-white racism and anti-male sexism. She emphasized that such discrimination persists only because of the Equalities Act itself, pledging that a Reform UK government would abolish this divisive legislation and restore meritocracy in the workplace.

Braverman committed that under Reform UK, no individual would face discrimination based on personal characteristics, whether they are pregnant women, disabled people, white men, or ethnic minorities.
