Two Syrian Migrants Rape 18-Year-Old Girl at Munich Bus Station
Two Syrian men are in pre-trial detention in Munich after allegedly raping an 18-year-old woman at the Central Bus Station following a nightclub encounter, with arrests made after a club employee spotted them.
The young woman from Upper Bavaria had been out with a friend at the Neuraum club near Hackerbrücke when she met the two men, according to Nius. Around 3 a.m., the trio left the venue to smoke a cigarette outside.
The suspects, aged 19 and 21, then allegedly persuaded the 18-year-old to accompany them into an unlocked room on the first floor of the bus station building, where the sexual assault took place.
Swift Police Response After Victim Reports Attack
After the attack, both perpetrators fled the scene. The victim soon reconnected with her friend and disclosed what had happened. Her companion immediately contacted police. The young woman was subsequently examined by forensic medical staff and received medical treatment. Authorities confirmed she sustained injuries while attempting to resist her attackers.
Club Employee Instrumental in Arrest
Video surveillance footage from inside the club proved crucial to the investigation. A staff member from the Neuraum club reviewed the recordings alongside police officers that same night, enabling authorities to identify both suspects. Photographs were then distributed to police units across Munich.
In a remarkable twist, the same club employee encountered the two suspects by chance on Bayerstrasse while walking home. She immediately notified police, who arrested both men within minutes.
Suspects Held After Judge Issues Arrest Warrants
The accused are Syrian nationals residing in different parts of Germany. The 21-year-old lives in Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holstein, while the 19-year-old resides in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district. Both men were brought before an investigating judge who issued arrest warrants. They have remained in pre-trial custody since their apprehension.
The case adds to growing concerns about public safety in German cities, particularly in areas around major transport hubs and nightlife districts.
