Trump Predicts Vance-Rubio Ticket Would Be Unbeatable in 2028

President Trump told the New York Post he believes Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio would form an "unbeatable" Republican ticket for the 2028 presidential election.

Speaking with Miranda Devine of the New York Post on Pod Force One this week, Trump said he closely observes the working relationship between his vice president and top diplomat, according to Breitbart News.

Trump told Devine that the two men share strong chemistry and complementary qualities. I think the two of them running together as a team would be very unbeatable, the president said during the interview.

The president emphasized his personal regard for both officials and suggested they would form a powerful political partnership if they chose to run together in the next election cycle.

Trump acknowledged that any such arrangement would require mutual agreement between Vance and Rubio, noting that the administration still has more than two and a half years remaining in its term.

When questioned about the age difference between the 41-year-old Vance and 55-year-old Rubio, Trump dismissed the concern, characterizing both men as young and highlighting what he sees as their superior capabilities compared to likely Democratic contenders.

The president drew a sharp contrast with potential opposition candidates, telling Devine that a Vance-Rubio pairing would prove formidable against what he termed the low IQ people on the Democratic side.

This is not the first time Trump has publicly floated the idea of his vice president and secretary of state joining forces for 2028. As Breitbart News reports, he made similar comments to reporters aboard Air Force One last October, suggesting that few would dare challenge such a ticket.

During a cabinet meeting in December, Trump hinted that the next Republican nominee would likely be someone seated at the table, potentially even two people running together from his current administration.

The president made clear his desire to see the policies and achievements of his administration continued beyond his own tenure in office.

Trump’s repeated endorsement of a Vance-Rubio ticket signals his view that maintaining continuity with his political movement will be essential for Republican success in the next presidential cycle.
