Trump Launches Lightning Strikes on ISIS in Nigeria with Christmas Air Raids to Protect Christians
President Trump announced a coordinated U.S. military strike against ISIS in Nigeria targeting attacks on Christians, emphasizing decisive action to halt ongoing violence amid rising regional extremism.
President Trump announced on Thursday that the U.S. military carried out strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria, who were targeting Christians with “multiple” deadly airstrikes.
Tonight, under my leadership as Commander of the Army, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorists in Northwestern Nigeria, who have brutally targeted and massacred, primarily, innocent Christians at levels not seen in many years, even centuries!
Trump wrote this on the Truth Social platform and added:
I had previously warned these terrorists that if they didn’t stop the slaughter of Christians, there would be serious consequences—and tonight, there were.
“The Department of War executed multiple appropriate strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing,” the President stated.
Under my leadership, our country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to thrive. May God bless our Army, and Merry Christmas to all, including the dead terrorists, of whom there will be many more if the slaughter of Christians continues.
The Pentagon coordinated the strikes with the Nigerian government prior to the air raids. “The Department of War collaborated with the Nigerian government to carry out these attacks,” a Pentagon spokesperson told reporters.
These strikes were approved by the Nigerian government.

It is unclear how many were killed in the Christmas Day strikes. The airstrikes come one day after a bomb detonated at a mosque in the city of Maiduguri, killing five people and injuring dozens.
Nigeria has been plagued by violence committed by multiple armed groups, including Boko Haram and ISIS in West Africa.

Approximately 7,000 Christians have been slaughtered in Nigeria this year, according to the human rights organization Intersociety. A month ago, Trump warned that he would cut U.S. aid to Nigeria and intervene “armed” if the government did not do more to stop Islamist extremists from killing Christians.
