Drawing from her personal experience, Graham Nordone described herself as a volleyball mother who has accompanied her daughter and her team to competitions throughout South Carolina and the southeastern United States. She stated unequivocally that she understands firsthand the dangers posed when boys participate in girls’ sports.
The senator referenced a recent incident involving a young female volleyball player in North Carolina, noting that such events resonate deeply with her as a parent. Cunningham’s comments came during an ESPN interview in which she addressed backlash she has received following her public statements. The Phoenix Mercury guard revealed she has faced considerable negative feedback, with critics accusing her of harboring hatred toward transgender individuals.
