James Blunt Denies Being Famous Naked Man in Panettiere Yacht Tale

British singer James Blunt shared an article debunking false internet rumors linking him to a disturbing yacht incident actress Hayden Panettiere described in her memoir.

According to journalist Antoinette Bueno writing in New York Post, the 52-year-old musician shared an article on social media Monday that systematically dismantles the rumors connecting him to the episode Panettiere detailed in her book “This Is Me: A Reckoning.”

In her memoir, Panettiere described being placed in a compromising situation with an undressed and highly recognizable figure when she was 18 years old. She characterized the individual as a famous British singer-songwriter in his thirties at the time of the encounter.

Timeline Discrepancies Debunk Allegations

Journalist Dean Piper published a detailed analysis on Substack titled “Hayden Panettiere and James Blunt – An Internet Lynching,” which Blunt subsequently amplified to his followers. Piper noted he personally covered the amfAR charity event in Cannes in 2009, where both Blunt and Panettiere were present.

Photographs from that event showing the pair together on a boat sparked the unfounded speculation. However, Piper points out a critical flaw in the theory: Panettiere was 19, nearly 20 years old in May 2009 when those images were taken. If the incident she describes occurred when she was 18, the chronology eliminates Blunt as a possibility.

Furthermore, Piper argues that Panettiere’s account of fleeing the room and hiding elsewhere on the vessel contradicts the photographic evidence of her and Blunt appearing comfortable together across multiple occasions during the Cannes event.

Disturbing Account of Yacht Encounter

The “Heroes” actress elaborated on the incident during a May appearance on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast. She recounted believing she was enjoying a social gathering with friends on a boat when the situation took an alarming turn.

Panettiere stated she was guided into a confined room by someone she had come to view as trustworthy and protective. She described being physically placed in a bed next to an unclothed celebrity by this individual, finding herself trapped with no means of escape and surrounded by people who appeared familiar with such arrangements.

Other Names Also Denied Involvement

Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Diana Jenkins also found herself the subject of speculation regarding whether she was the woman who allegedly facilitated the encounter, given her past friendship with Panettiere.

Jenkins’ legal representative firmly rejected the allegations in a statement to TMZ, warning that anyone perpetuating such claims would face legal action.

Panettiere died last Sunday from an apparent overdose at age 36.
