Farage Vows to Kick Out All Migrants From Gov’t Subsidised Housing

The policy announcement comes as government-sponsored housing schemes have emerged as a major flashpoint in the national debate over mass migration, according to Breitbart News. Many Britons view these facilities as symbols of a system that prioritises foreign nationals over native citizens.

Nigel Farage, the architect of Brexit, has argued that successive governments have created massive disruption to the social fabric of local communities by prioritising foreigners over residents with generational ties to their areas. He contends that official policies have systematically shifted housing supply away from white British populations who originally inhabited those neighbourhoods.

Writing on his newly launched Substack platform, Farage explained that rules which once gave priority to local people with ties to an area were dismantled, partly on grounds they discriminated against Britain’s diversifying population. These protections were only partially restored after significant damage had already been done to community cohesion.

Under the Reform UK proposal, all foreign nationals would be barred from public housing if the party gains power. Migrants currently occupying social housing would have three months to secure alternative accommodation or face deportation.

Farage specified that residency and preference requirements for social housing would ensure veterans and long-term local residents receive priority, with exceptions limited to groups such as domestic abuse survivors and care leavers.

Official Housing Ministry data shows that 12 per cent of lead tenants in social housing were foreign nationals during the 2024/25 reporting period. Critically, these figures exclude households headed by migrants who have obtained British citizenship, as well as dwellings that include non-head-of-household migrants, meaning the true proportion is likely considerably higher.

The social housing announcement represents just one element of Reform UK’s comprehensive immigration overhaul platform. The party has also committed to terminating all financial benefits for foreign nationals, a move that would save British taxpayers over £1 billion monthly in direct welfare payments currently flowing to non-citizens.

Reform’s broader immigration agenda includes deporting all illegal migrants in the country, a population estimated to exceed one million people. The party has pledged to withdraw Britain from the European Convention on Human Rights, which has repeatedly blocked deportation efforts, and to revoke status from questionable asylum claimants admitted over the past five years.

The party has set a goal of reducing legal immigration to at least net zero.

To implement these mass removal operations, Reform UK has called for establishing deportation hubs throughout the country to detain migrants awaiting removal, rather than allowing them to disappear into the general population and skip scheduled deportation proceedings.

In a pointed political statement, the party has suggested locating such centres in areas that vote for open-borders parties like the far-left Greens led by Zach Polanski.

The policy announcement coincides with the closure this week of one of England’s most notorious migrant accommodation facilities. The Bell hotel in Epping was cleared of alleged asylum seekers over fire safety concerns just before the Home Office contract to house migrants in the building was set to expire.

The Bell hotel became a focal point for protests replicated across the UK after an Ethiopian boat migrant sexually assaulted a 14-year-old local girl mere days after illegally crossing the English Channel and being placed in the hotel by authorities.
