Calm returned to the dead zone in Pergamos on Thursday following the tension that prevailed yesterday, with the occupying forces having withdrawn their armored vehicles.

However, the area now hosts an increased presence of members of the United Nations peacekeeping force, who are conducting patrols, closing roads, and carrying out strict checks. At the locations where the United Nations are present, there is also the presence of the local “police.”

Meanwhile, heightened surveillance by the British Bases Police continues in various areas under their responsibility to ensure order. On the hill with the antenna, where an increased military presence of the occupying army was detected yesterday, today only the Turkish flag and the antenna remain, while the military tent has been removed.
