Bolton: Iran Only Winner in Six-Week Gaza Truce
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton warned on CNN that Iran has accelerated drone manufacturing and military rebuilding during a six-week ceasefire, calling the temporary halt a strategic mistake that gave Tehran dangerous breathing room.
Speaking on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” as Breitbart News reports, Bolton expressed serious concern over intelligence indicating that Tehran has restarted drone manufacturing and is reconstituting its armed forces faster than previously anticipated during the six-week pause in hostilities.
When pressed by host Wolf Blitzer about the implications of Iran’s accelerated military rebuilding, Bolton outlined his assessment of the regime’s priorities. “The ceasefire will end up when we look back on it, we’ll see it as a mistake,” he stated, arguing that the temporary halt has provided Tehran with critical breathing room to expand its arsenal.
Bolton characterized the Iranian regime’s behavior as revealing its true strategic objectives. Rather than using the ceasefire window to improve conditions for its citizens, Tehran has focused on buttressing its grip on power and expanding its military stockpiles, including drone and ballistic missile production capabilities. The former security official emphasized that the Revolutionary Guard’s institutional priorities center on regime preservation rather than national development.
The assessment reflects growing concern among hardline observers that temporary diplomatic pauses risk enabling adversarial powers to strengthen their military posture without reciprocal Western gains.
