In the coming days, lawyer Maria Gratsia, a close associate of Maria Karystianou, is expected to appear at the Supreme Court. Her goal is to submit the signatures for the founding declaration of the new political entity.

Maria Karistianou is a doctor and the mother of one of the victims of the tragic train accident in Tempi, Northern Greece, in 2023, which many have called a crime. For months now, Karystianou has been announcing the formation of a political party, which is polling at exceptionally high levels, a development that seriously threatens the current political balance in Greece, especially in light of the elections scheduled to take place in about a year from now.

The procedure was initially planned for the near future, but it was decided to grant a few more days’ extension. This will allow for gathering more signatures from interested individuals across Greece.

Maria Karystianou herself appeared yesterday in a video from Maria Gratsia’s office. As she stated, “We are collecting the signatures; it is now officially the start. Tomorrow we will submit it to the Supreme Court, and together we are writing the right and good story.”

According to her, the new organization will include close associates who do not come from the active political scene and have not been significantly involved in public life.

Mobilization for the Presentation

The official presentation of the party is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at the “Olympion” theater in Thessaloniki. The organizers have already launched a major mobilization effort to fill Aristotelous Square in front of the venue. There are even plans to install large screens so that the public can watch Maria Karystianou’s speech.

Meanwhile, supporters of the former president of the Association of Relatives of the Victims of Tempi are responding en masse to the call. Officials are communicating in person or electronically and declaring their readiness to add their signatures.

Lawyer and regional councilor of Thessaly, Grigoris Kalagias, expressed his trust characteristically:

The big moment has arrived for all of us… With absolute confidence in her person, we are giving her a statutory margin of three days.

The signature collection process continues at an intense pace, while the submission to the Supreme Court appears likely to be completed soon.
