Two US Fighter Jets Collide in Midair – Shocking Video
During the Gunfighter Skies Air Show in Idaho, two U.S. Navy jets collided mid-air and caught fire, prompting parachute escapes and an urgent investigation, with no casualty details yet confirmed.
Two U.S. Navy E/F-18 fighter jets collided in mid-air during the public Gunfighter Skies Air Show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, with eyewitnesses reporting a fireball and four parachutes.
It was a shocking moment that abruptly interrupted the festive events. In fact, it was the first major incident of this kind at the base since 2018.
Video quickly circulated on social media showing the two jets—a Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and a Boeing EA-18G Growler—coming into contact in the air before bursting into flames and breaking apart. Spectators below reported seeing four parachutes open, indicating that the crews managed to eject in time.
So far, there has been no official confirmation of casualties or injuries. Authorities responded immediately, and emergency teams were on the scene. Military officials have already launched an investigation into the causes of the collision.
The base was placed on lockdown immediately after the incident, and the events were temporarily interrupted. Mountain Home Air Force Base is located southeast of Boise and was hosting the event celebrating 250 years of the United States.
The situation is developing, while both the Navy and the Air Force have yet to provide details about the status of the crews.
