Prosecutors in Utah granted limited immunity to Tyler Robinson's transgender partner Lance Twiggs in exchange for testimony about alleged confessions and evidence destruction following activist Charlie Kirk's murder.

Lance Twiggs, the 22-year-old roommate and romantic partner of accused shooter Tyler Robinson, is positioned to provide pivotal evidence at a multi-day preliminary hearing scheduled for next month, according to New York Post.

Twiggs participated in a recorded interview with prosecutors on April 20, during which he provided detailed information about Robinson’s alleged actions and statements following Kirk’s killing. The video could be presented to Utah Judge Tony Graf during the July preliminary hearing.

The limited use-immunity agreement ensures that Twiggs’ video statement cannot be used against him in future legal proceedings. This arrangement allows prosecutors to leverage his testimony while protecting him from self-incrimination.

Alleged Confession and Cover-Up

During the April interview, Twiggs corroborated his initial statements to law enforcement made after Kirk’s September killing, as New York Post reports. According to prosecutors, Twiggs confirmed that Robinson admitted to carrying out the public shooting, revealed he had hidden the firearm used in the attack, disposed of his clothing, and instructed Twiggs not to cooperate with police.

Court papers filed Tuesday indicate that text message exchanges between Twiggs and Robinson may also be introduced as evidence during the proceedings.

Defense Request Opposed

Prosecutors disclosed these details while opposing Robinson’s defense team’s motion to compel Twiggs to appear in person at the preliminary hearing. The prosecution argues that such an appearance is unnecessary given the availability of recorded statements and screenshots of text communications between the two men.

The filing, first reported by Fox News, demonstrates the state’s confidence in the evidentiary value of Twiggs’ recorded testimony and digital communications.
