Thrace: When pressure on Justice is called a “minority right
Pro-consulate groups are attempting to transform criminal offenses into political insurgency by targeting justice institutions and portraying scrutinized individuals as symbols of struggle.
With a summons of high dramatic tone and low institutional responsibility, KIEF, the self-proclaimed “elected” muftis and other pro-consulate circles co-signing this particular initiative are attempting to transform the commission of common criminal law offenses into a political and minority “insurgency.”
Justice is called upon to decide on specific incidents. But some, it seems, prefer to set up people’s courts outside the courtrooms, dressing up pressure with the mantle of “solidarity.”
The message of the announcement is clear: anyone scrutinized by Justice must automatically be proclaimed a “symbol of struggle.” And anyone who disagrees or demands the application of laws is virtually presented as an enemy of the minority. This is a dangerous and deeply divisive logic.
The Professionals of “Oppression” and the Targeting of Justice
Thrace has paid dearly for artificial tensions and the professionals of “oppression,” who survive politically only when they maintain a climate of conflict. Every judicial procedure is presented as “historic persecution,” every state intervention as an “attack on rights,” and every attempt to enforce the law as a national issue.
Even more provocative is the public targeting of people and institutions through innuendo, slogans and organized calls. Social peace is not protected by summons that fanaticism the public or by gatherings that attempt to create an image of a “popular siege” of Justice.
Let it be said clearly:

No to Fanaticism: Violence, thuggery and the cultivation of rage have no place in a democratic society.

Dangerous Games: Those who invest politically in fanaticism are playing dangerous games on the backs of ordinary citizens who want to live peacefully.

Laws Apply to Everyone: There are no “sacred” groups of citizens exempted from Justice’s scrutiny because they invoke sensitive identity issues.
The minority is not protected by those who instrumentalize it for political influence, but by equality before the law, democracy and peaceful coexistence. And ultimately, if some truly believe in the rule of law, let them drop the grand talk of “struggle” and allow the courts to do their job, without organized pressures, without fueling tensions and without staged displays of power.

This new calculated attempt to instrumentalize Justice by KIEF and the well-known extra-institutional circles of the region confirms their consistent objective: the creation of a peculiar regime of separate justice in Thrace. Every time the members of this mechanism face the law for common criminal law offenses, the rhetoric of “ethnic persecution” is automatically deployed to fanaticism public opinion and exert psychological pressure on the functionaries of Themis.
For us here in Rodopi, the response to these media shows of “popular siege” must be relentless and unambiguous: equality before the law and equal citizenship. The minority does not need protectors who use the courtroom as a political platform. Social peace and harmonious coexistence in our land are fortified only when laws are applied horizontally, without exceptions, without “sacred cows” and without the rule of law succumbing to the organized pressures of the professionals of tension.
