Shock in Kos: Greek Man Gang-Raped by Foreigners in Prison

A 33-year-old Greek inmate in Kos prison alleges he was sexually assaulted by two foreign detainees, prompting a formal investigation and upcoming court proceedings.

Shock at the Kos Prison following the rape allegation by a 33-year-old Greek inmate who claims he was attacked by two foreign fellow prisoners.

The incident reportedly occurred last Saturday, April 25. The 33-year-old was in the shower area when, according to his statement, two other inmates entered.

They are foreigners of Syrian origin, aged 44 and 33. Using physical violence, they raped him, according to his allegation.

Immediately after filing the complaint, the competent authorities drew up a case file against the two men. Both are charged with rape. Today, Monday, April 27, they are expected to be brought before the Kos Magistrate’s Court.

The case remains under investigation and inquiries are ongoing. So far, no further details have been made public regarding detention conditions or any previous incidents at the same prison.

The information comes from the police department and the judicial authority of the island, and the news was initially reported by Law and Order.
