The attack targeted the port of Chornomorsk, located in close proximity to Odesa, where Russian forces hit multiple strategic facilities on Monday, July 13th, as The European Conservative reports. The strike resulted in substantial damage to key logistical infrastructure supporting Ukrainian military operations.

According to statements from the Russian Defence Ministry, the operation successfully destroyed several critical targets at the port facility. The damaged infrastructure included unloading docks used for offloading military cargo, fuel storage tanks, and an ammunition warehouse. All three targets were described as actively supporting the transport and storage of Ukrainian military supplies.

The Chornomorsk port has served as a vital logistics hub for Ukraine’s military supply chain throughout the ongoing conflict. The facility’s location near Odesa, a major Black Sea port city, makes it strategically important for receiving international military aid and redistributing supplies to Ukrainian forces.

Russian forces have consistently targeted Ukrainian military logistics infrastructure throughout the war, aiming to disrupt supply lines and degrade Kyiv’s ability to sustain military operations. Ports along Ukraine’s Black Sea coast have been particularly vulnerable to such strikes due to their role in receiving Western military assistance.

The extent of operational disruption caused by the strike remains unclear, though Russian military officials characterized the damage as substantial. Ukraine has not yet issued an official response to the reported attack on the Chornomorsk facilities.
