A Pakistani man in Chania is alleged to have committed unacceptable acts against two children approximately 12 years old. The Chania Security Subdirectorate is investigating a case of sexual harassment of the minor children in a public space.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, June 6, in the Souda area. The children were walking on the street when the 35-year-old Pakistani man approached them with indecent intentions. The minors reacted immediately and reported the incident to the authorities.
The man was arrested on the afternoon of Sunday, June 7, and taken to the Chania Police Directorate. He was subsequently transferred to the Chania Prosecutor’s Office, where charges of both a misdemeanor and possibly felony nature were filed against him. He is expected to receive a deadline for his testimony in the coming days.
As Cretalive reports, the same 35-year-old is also alleged to have attempted to rob a tourist and will be tried for this in a summary trial.
