Netflix Using Illicit Data to Push Woke Shows on Kids: Paxton
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton accused Netflix of using subscriber data to manipulate behavior and target children with progressive content on the streaming platform.
Speaking on “The Alex Marlow Show” this past Saturday, Ken Paxton warned that the streaming giant is exploiting personal information collected from subscribers for ideological purposes, as Breitbart News reports.
They’re taking our data. They use that data to manipulate behavior, including that of children to watch these woke shows they have on Netflix, Paxton told the program.
The Texas attorney general’s comments reflect growing conservative concern over how major technology and entertainment companies use consumer data to shape viewing habits and promote left-leaning cultural messaging. Netflix has faced sustained criticism from traditionalist groups over its promotion of programming that advances progressive social narratives, particularly content aimed at younger audiences.
Paxton has emerged as one of the most active Republican state attorneys general in challenging Big Tech practices and defending conservative values in the cultural arena. His office has previously taken legal action against technology companies over alleged censorship and data privacy violations.
The remarks come amid broader debates about parental control over children’s media consumption and the extent to which streaming platforms should be held accountable for algorithmic recommendations that may expose minors to ideologically charged material without parental consent.
